It is great to bring our fur babies with us to the beach! I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact dogs should be on a leash and today 4 large dogs were not. They were at the end and didn't bother anyone. A young couple next to me let their large dog loose and came by me my dog usually very friendly but this dog was too much for her. Took a while for them to come to get their dog. Wish people would follow the rules so we don't lose the dog beach!
I always have fun here. There's a McDonald's and a Wal-Mart close by for convenience, and the water is usually very nice. Waves aren't overwhelming, and every time I've been there it's been clean. The only downfall is that the restroom is usually kind of dirty, but there's a little shower outside, so at least you're free to rinse off afterward. I'll always keep coming back. Heads up though, don't feed a single seagull. The swarm comes out of nowhere!!
Awesome beach for the dogs. My reason for 3 stars are the homeless. On the first visit there were two homeless men camped out at the gazebo by the entrance. They were sleeping when we arrived and still sleeping when we left. On the second visit, we witnessed two homeless using the public shower. They were bathing, washing their hair, etc. We went to the beach and returned about an hour or so later and they were still bathing. We sat and watched them for another 15 minutes and they brought out the floor mats of their car to clean them as well. Other than that, the beach was nice.
Great beach to bring your dog. There are showers for both you and the dog after which is nice. The down side is the surf is full of rocks and holes making it tough to swim. Not bad 50 feet off shore, but tough to get out there unscathed the first few times.
Finally found a beach you can take your dog to. Nice beach. However, there were several homeless men hanging out around the entrance drinking. Would have felt afraid without my husband.
